ratings: The Mole comes in second. The Mole was beat in its time slot, but had more viewers than Regis Philbin’s Who Wants to be a Millionaire did in the same time slot. It also did well among “youngsters” (hey, headline writer, could you be a little more condescending?).

The Mole host Anderson Cooper had “full” control of what he says. Unlike Julie “Scripted” Chen, Anderson Cooper says he had control over his lines as host of ABC’s upcoming The Mole. Unlike Julie Chen’s “hokey lines,” “I had full say over what I was saying,” he told the Philadelphia Daily News.
