The original seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have returned, available to stream for free. They became available yesterday, joining a bunch of other reality shows on Tubi, a streaming service that’s free but supported by advertising.
Among the classic shows I found and can’t wait to watch again are Cannonball Run 2001, with Survivor contestants Sue Hawk and Jeff Varner racing across country against other teams (including Alpha Gamma Grandma!), and all six seasons of the early celebrity reality show The Surreal Life.
Also online, as of yesterday: Bachelor in Paradise season 5. Watch the trailer for the first Bachelorette season to see just how far the show has come, if only with its production values:
Tubi has apps for iOS and Android, plus Roku and other platforms, with “more than 12,000 movies and television series,” and says its “content volume is more than double in size to Netflix – approximately 40,000 hours of content.” It says it has “the largest content library on the planet.”
Tubi’s reality TV category includes more than 250 classic and current shows. These stood out to me:
- The Simple Life
- Small Town Security
- Flavor of Love, I Love New York, I Love Money, Rock of Love, Daisy of Love, and Real Chance of Love
- America’s Next Most Smartest Model
- The Only Way is Essex
- Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares and Hell’s Kitchen
- The Surreal Life
There’s a lot more, too—some deep cuts, some WTFs.
Let me know or comment below if you find something awesome in Tubi’s archives.
