As Thanksgiving approaches, I’m full of gratitude for each one of you who’s reading these words. You’re sharing in my love of reality TV, and also reading what I have to say about that, and that still feels amazing and unexpected to me.
I’ve been publishing reality blurred for 18+ years now, and with every passing year, I have more and more appreciation for the feedback that so many of you provide, whether you’re asking questions for me to answer, correcting a typo, or challenging my thinking.
And even if you haven’t provided direct feedback, well, just by reading these words, scrolling past ads, or answering the occasional survey*, you’re helping to support my work as a writer, journalist, and TV critic, which is so awesome.
*By the way, I’ve recently adjusted the surveys so that regular readers should see them less frequently: only twice a month or less, per device or browser.
And to those of you who have offered even more support, I’m so very thankful and humbled.
The end of the year is not quite upon us—there are six more weeks that 2018—but with the holidays approaching, and reality shows being scheduled for early next year, I’m starting to think ahead into 2019, and I’d love your help.
That brings us to this completely anonymous survey. Last year, hundreds of you responded, and that helped me prioritize and shape the work I did this year—and will continue to do into 2019.
Thanks for spending a few minutes responding! I promise to read and think about every answer.
