No Big Brother: Over the Top this fall

Big Brother: Over the Top will not return to CBS All Access this summer, CBS just confirmed to me.

BB:OTT aired its first season last fall, and was praised by fans for improving on the summer, televised version. About one year ago, I broke the news that Big Brother would air its first fall season.

A press release about new shows for the subscription streaming service did not mention Big Brother in its list of original programming, so I asked if that meant it wasn’t returning.

CBS directed me to a statement that CBS Interactive president Marc DeBevoise gave to Deadline, in which he said it “was not easy” to produce a new season so quickly after the summer version ended.

He added, “we are looking at what to do next for that show,” so it seems like BB:OTT isn’t dead, there are just no plans for it right now.
