Survivor, Big Brother ‘fan favorites’ will compete on Candy Crush’s premiere

How do you encourage people to watch a completely unnecessary game show based on a time-wasting app that many of us deleted years ago? Cast “fan favorites” from your two biggest reality shows, of course!

That’s what CBS is doing for Candy Crush, the game show version of the smartphone game, if you can count Frankie Grande—whose social media hasn’t previously followed him to television—and others as “fan favorites.”

On the show, which is hosted by Mario Lopez, “teams of two use their wits and physical agility to compete on enormous, interactive game boards featuring next generation technology to conquer Candy Crush and be crowned the champions,” according to CBS.

Basically, they’re large screens that the contestants are suspended in front of, climb, or dangle over.

CBS is pairing teams of Survivor and Big Brother cast members together to compete on the July 9 premiere.
