Maria Menounos broke ribs on Derek Hough’s hardness

Dancing with the Stars 14 contestant Maria Menounos has two broken ribs that were injured when they came into contact with her partner Derek Hough, but she will perform tonight anyway.

Yesterday, Page Six quoted a source who says “she has been in excruciating pain for the past few weeks during rehearsals, but she is staying strong and working through it. She refuses to give up.”

Maria confirmed she is injured but blew it off. “What injuries? We’re fine!” she told Extra. Derek said that it happened during a “move in which she lands on my knee.” Maria explained, “His knee is really hard and my ribs are really soft.”
