The cast of The Amazing Race 14 has been revealed by CBS, which says they will run “one of the most grueling courses ever assembled on the Race — spanning 40,000 miles and nine countries in just 22 days.” It includes “a multitude of extremes” in the form of challenges and locations, including first-time visits to Siberia and Romania.
The cast has its first-ever deaf contestant, Luke Adams, a 23-year-old college graduate who’s running the race with his 51-year-old mother Margie Adams. It also includes a few Hollywood connected, slightly famous people: actor, writer, and producer Mike White and his gay father Mel White, and stuntmen brothers Mark and Michael Munoz.
Besides them, the cast includes typical pairs, like dating couples and a husband and wife who don’t “always see eye-to-eye,” but also includes a team of former NFL cheerleaders and two friends who met when they were flight attendants for Southwest.
“Heading into our 14th season, I wanted to pull out all the stops. We have extreme climates, intense roadblocks and less time in airports, which adds up to an exhausting course for the Racers. Whether you’re a screen writer, a Harvard graduate, a jockey or a carpenter, this Race will test your stamina, your heart and your will to win,” executive producer Bertram van Munster said in the network’s press release.
