More than 20 million watched Dancing with the Stars finale

The finale of Dancing with the Stars was a hit for ABC. An average of 22.4 million viewers watched as Kelly Monaco danced her way to victory. That’s substantial growth over last week’s episode, which was watched by 18.6 million viewers and came in first place for the week.

Whoever greenlit the series should get a raise, as compared to last summer, ABC has come back from the dead. The Hollywood Reporter notes that the show “had a solid six-week growth pattern for ABC, giving the network a 70% increase over its performance in summer 2004 in adults 18-49.”
