Pop Idol

Gareth has not been dropped by BMG.

by Andy Dehnart 11 May. 2004 | 7:15 am

Gareth has not been dropped by BMG.
Justin Guarini doesn’t have something in common with Gareth Gates after all. Like the American Idol runner-up, the Pop Idol runner-up had been reportedly dumped from his label, despite a successful duet with Will Young and a number-one single. However, according to an announcement on Gareth’s stupid unlinkable Flash web site, he’s still with BMG. The news item quotes BMG chair Tim Bowen, who says, “This is ridiculous. We have not dropped Gareth Gates. He is currently in the studio recording new material.” There’s a similar statement from 19 Entertainment. Those participating in the I Still Believe in Gareth campaign will surely be relieved.
