James gets role in off-Broadway play.
The same day the Boy Meets Boy DVD was released, Playbill reported that the show’s star will make his acting debut off-Broadway. James Getzlaff “will play Andrew Polinski, one of the two grooms of My Big Gay Italian Wedding. Getzlaff joins the cast at Off-Broadway’s Theatre Four June 11,” according to Playbill. In its review of the play last fall, The New York Times wrote that the “show is genuinely entertaining when it shifts into pure vaudeville. But most of the time Mr. Wilkinson seems to believe that just having actors say words like gay or slut in loud voices is inherently amusing.” Anthony Wilkinson wrote the play, and James will star opposite him.
