Filmmakers Alan and Susan Raymond followed the Loud family for the 1973 PBS series An American Family, and in 2001, they returned to film Lance Loud’s final days at his request. The result, “Lance Loud! A Death In An American Family”, debuts tonight at 9 p.m. ET on PBS (check local listings). After the documentary airs, the network will air the second episode of An American Family, which introduced Lance and television’s first openly gay person.
