Survivor Thailand

Survivor Thailand begins taping in a fishing village.

by Andy Dehnart 12 Jun. 2002 | 7:40 am

Survivor Thailand begins taping after cast visits a school and a mosque.
Filming of Survivor Thailand began Monday in a fishing village and featured more than 200 residents and 25 fishing boats in the shot. The production “generated at least Bt1 million [roughly US$23,600] for the province on the first day of filming,” Thailand’s The Nation reports. The paper also reports that the cast and crew first “donated sports equipment to a village school and visited a local mosque,” and says that “fishing boats [were asked] to stay at least two kilometres away from the island” where the show is set.
+ plus: “the first woman ever drafted by Major League Baseball, Carey Schueler” and a children’s advocacy worker are possible cast members.
