Paula Abdul has “unrealistic,” “pricey demands” for X Factor, Star Search
Paula Abdul’s potential future as a judge on Simon Cowell’s relaunch of The X Factor is being held up by her contractual demands, which a new report says is still a possibility even though a previous report said her salary demand was too high so ABC dropped her from consideration.
The Sun-Times Bill Zwecker reports that “Abdul’s tough contract requirements that have caused delays,” and “[a]mong her ‘needs’ are very specific — and pricey — demands regarding office and dressing-room decoration and an insistence on a large entourage of publicists, hair stylists and makeup artists (available 24/7, even when not taping), plus a slew of other assistants.”
Paula also has “‘unrealistic’ demands regarding a piece of ownership of the programs” and someone on X Factor told Zwecker that her demand for wardrobe money “would cost more than what most shows provide an entire cast, ‘like on ‘Desperate Housewives.’”
