Paula Abdul hints she’ll judge the X-Factor

Paula Abdul has done everything but say she’ll be a judge on The X Factor, dropping hints in a radio interview that are very, very Paula—which is to say they lack subtlety, and she might as well have just come out and said it.

“Drop a clue? Oh, I’m gonna be going back to my roots and doing a TV show that has something to do with my roots. … I’m going back to doing some teaching on television in that kind of capacity,” she said on Friday’s John Jay & Rich Show, according to Access Hollywood. While I’m not quite sure what she’s referring to with her “roots” (singing? judging a singing competition? her hair?), X Factor involves judges who mentor and teach a group of contestants.

To make sure there was no confusion amid all the confusion, Paula said, “You’ll just have to hear it from me. I hate having to say that, but you know, there are a lot of factors.”
