Teen sues ABC for $100 million, claiming Wife Swap was staged to embarrass her

Alicia Guastaferro, who appeared on ABC’s Wife Swap in 2008 and said things such as “I do feel sorry for people that are not gorgeous people,” is suing the show, claiming that it staged scenes to “maximize [Guastaferro’s] public embarrassment.” The $100 million lawsuit says she was directed to “act a little more spoiled.”

The New York Daily News reports that she “claims she has gotten death threats and been assaulted, and went from the honor roll to being a special-ed student after the show aired.”
