Chad Ochocinco will date on VH1
Despite casting two actual murderers as potential soulmates for its talent, VH1 is moving forward with its string of dating series, enlisting Cincinnati Bengals player Chad Ochocinco to front his own show produced by 51 Minds Entertainment, the same people behind VH1’s other dating series.
On the show, which will debut in July and is tentatively titled The Tournament, he “will follow a tournament bracket where each of the ladies will have an opportunity to spend quality time with him while also facing off against one another in double-dates. The winner of each dating face-off will receive a game ball from Ocho Cinco and move on to the next round of the tournament, while the loser goes home,” according to the network.
Ochocinco seems to be rebranding himself as a reality star, as before he goes on to VH1, he will compete on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, which has yet to cast any murderers in its desperation for ratings.
