ArchivesAfter tonight’s 90-minute finale of Rock of Love 2 tonight, VH1 will debut a new talent competition, Viva Hollywood, at 10:30 p.m. ET. It will air at 10 on Sundays starting next week.
On the show, a group of “aspiring Latino actors … will live together, fight together, make love together” and be “competing for the coveted title and a Hollywood prize package that includes a contract with Telemundo, the biggest telenovela production company in the United States,” according to the network. The show is hosted by Maria Conchita Alonso and Carlos Ponce.
VH1 says that this “is the first reality show where the losers aren’t just eliminated, they’re killed off” because “contestants watch themselves in an over the top telenovela death scene to see if they live another day or ‘die’ trying.”
Executive producer Tom Campbell says the series is “a groundbreaking show that crosses cultural lines, and pays tribute to our obsession with the passion, fashion and machinations of telenovelas.”
