Alas, Ryan lied, as Unan1mous did not end last night. Instead, the show that could have continued indefinitely will conclude next week, according to the preview that followed last night’s episode.
That’s when we’ll find out who wins, if anyone wins—or if the whole show was a big Joe Schmo Show-style hoax. That’s a pervasive but unsubstantiated rumor, as many viewers seem to be convinced that everyone except truck driver and family man Steve is an actor. Last night’s episode did focus on Steve, and his increasing despondency certainly could fuel those rumors. “There’s so much darkness here that I don’t think light will ever be able to pierce it. It’s dark. It’s dark,” he said. If he is the only non-actor, the man is going to need some therapy.
