BBC’s Home Movie allows 100 novice cast and crew members to make a film.
Reversing the format of Project Greenlight, the BBC’s £4 million show Home Movie “will feature a cast and crew made up entirely of novices who have never worked in film or television.” A real director and real screenwriter will guide the production, which will cost about £2 million to produce. 100 people will be cast for the show, which “is not a shortcut to success. It is genuinely aspirational and is about grounding people in the real mechanics of the film business,” a BBC spokesperson says.
