70 percent of UK study participants watch reality TV; want “mask to drop.”
A study conducted about reality TV back in 2000 and 2001 found that 70 percent of the nearly 9,000 people surveyed watch a form of reality TV. And those viewers “have become aware of how contestants ‘act up’, and now look for ‘moments of truth’ that reveal a person’s real nature,” BBC News reports. The University of Westminster’s Dr. Annette Hill also said that “people like to see what happens behind the scenes,” and they “increasingly look for the mask to drop,” as the BBC reports.
