actors’ union says Soapstars is “insulting.”
The actors’ union Equity called Soapstars—a new reality TV show that debuted on Britain’s ITV Monday—“an insulting affront to the men and women in our profession.” Much like Popstars, the show follows people who want to be cast as a new family in the soap opera Emmerdale.
