UK Popstars boy band manager says he’ll kill himself if group doesn’t hit #1.
Popstars: The Rivals has selected its first group, and it’s manager is so confident about their success he’s threatening suicide. Boy band—er, “vocal harmony group”—One True Voice is composed of contestants Matt Johnson, Anton Gordon, Daniel Pearce, Jamie Shaw, and Keith Semple; they’ll compete for the number one single against the girl group that still has to be selected from the remaining six female contestants. The boy band’s manager, Pete Waterman, is so sure of their eventual win that he says he’ll kill himself if the group’s first song, a cover of the Bee Gee’s “Sacred Trust,” doesn’t make it to number one.
