Chantelle Houghton was charged with convincing the other celebrities—including Dennis Rodman, Traci Bingham, and MP George Galloway, whose appearance was controversial—that she was actually a star, and it worked. She pretended she was a singer in the fake group Kandy Floss, and, in the house, performed their nonexistent hit “I Want It Right Now.”
In real life, besides modeling for things such as an “outrageous lesbian erotic action” pictorial, Chantelle worked as a Paris Hilton lookalike. This was a role she was born to play, as she has the same vacant, empty, soulless look in her eyes that suggests her brain is filled with sand. And she “describes herself as a bright, blonde bimbo,” according to the show’s web site, and says, “I look like Paris Hilton, not on purpose but it’s just the way it turned out.”
After 23 days in the house, she won £25,000. Writing in the Telegraph, Quentin Letts says that, when she won, “Celebrity had just seen its own eclipse.”
