Promising that the series “is going to be evil,” the UK’s Channel 4 debuts Big Brother 5 tonight. A network spokesperson tells Reuters that they “set out to make everyday, mundane things harder…like going to the toilet or having a shower.” The cast is “rumoured to include a stripper, a former asylum seeker and two lesbians,” according to Ananova, while MediaBulletin reports that “A gay man who only sleeps with straight men” and “a witch, a male stripper, a former prostitute and at least two couples.” There’s one bedroom with two double beds, and Playboy TV is offering £100,000 for the first couple to have sex on camera. To compete with the Channel 4 series, UKTV Style is running an internet reality series it says is just as interesting: Watching Paint Dry. The show, which is streaming live on the Internet, promises lots of drama: “Producers plan to install further spotlights later this evening which will heat up the paint and could lead to some cracks appearing and the possibility of some early flaking so stay tuned!”
