fourth UK Big Brother series will abandon rich/poor division.
For its fourth series, Channel 4’s Big Brother, which starts late this month, will dispense with the bars that separated the house into “rich” and “poor” halves. The show’s executive producer, Gigi Eligoloff, tells the BBC the change comes because the show is “about character and personality, and this format should really allow people to display who they are.” The show’s web site says, “forget the frills, forget the gimmicks. This year, it’s back to basics.” A new rule will force the house guests to wager at least half of their food budget on a challenge, however.
