Bishop who’s never watched Big Brother calls it “humiliating.”
The first black bishop in the Church of England called the UK’s Big Brother “humiliating” and “cheap entertainment.” He’s retiring this fall, and at a gathering honoring his career, talked about the show, saying he never watched but said, “What I dislike about what passes for television is the use of the humiliation of human beings to entertain other human beings. So we sit and watch the humiliation of these people and all that viciousness of human beings. The world would be a better place if we were encouraged to see the good that is in other people,” according to BBC News.
+ plus: UK Big Brother 3 contestant “says he is ‘too nice’ to be able to cash in on his Big Brother experience.”
