My Fake Baby debuts tonight, follows people who care for lifelike dolls

Tonight, BBC America debuts a Channel 4 documentary that may just have some of the creepiest characters ever: fake babies. My Fake Baby debuts tonight at 9 p.m. ET—thankfully not opposite ABC’s awesome Pushing Daisies, which would just be unacceptable. It repeats at midnight and 2 a.m. tonight, and later this month.

Known as reborns, they’re life-like dolls that collectors treat like actual babies, even though they’re just creepy reproductions. Channel 4’s web site for the documentary explains that these are “women who spend hundreds of pounds on life-like baby dolls. Loved like real babies, they’re taken for walks, cuddled and even have their nappies changed.”
