Archives$100K Trading Spaces highest rated TLC program ever with 9 million viewers.
Sunday’s special two-hour Trading Spaces, otherwise known as “Trading Space$: $100 Grand” because of the $50,000 budgets both Doug and Laurie had to work with, was the highest rated show in TLC’s history. 9.1 million viewers watched it, which makes it “the week’s most watched cable program, outstripping even the baseball playoffs on ESPN, and among all TV shows it ranked No. 50 for the week,” the Washington Post reports. The show also beat Alias, Tarzan’s premiere, and Charmed, and had ratings higher than many other shows, including the finales of Paradise Hotel and Temptation Island.
