Ty Pennington, one of the two on-camera Trading Spaces carpenters, is often dismissed as the pretty boy/comic relief/jackass. But did you know that he has “painted sets for the film ‘Leaving Las Vegas,’ done print and TV modeling for clients including J. Crew, Diet Coke and Levi’s,” “played college soccer and loves to skateboard and surf, and [is] a guitarist who recently cut a demo CD with a friend titled ‘Thick and Vainy’”? Well, now you do, thanks to a Knight Ridder profile of him. The profile also discusses his work ethic and reveals he “holds degrees from the Art Institute of Atlanta and the Atlanta College of Art for Painting and Sculpture.”
