Archives“naked” Paige cover only ran in LA, but not because TLC “kind of freaked out.”
TV Guide’s editor says that Trading Spaces host Paige Davis was “a bit out of context” in the naked-but-covered-with-wallpaper shot, and so the magazine decided to run two covers. The “naked” one appeared in LA, with everyone else in the US seeing a clothed cover shot. TV Guide editor Mike Lafavore tells The Chicago Sun-Times that “The Learning Channel people kind of freaked out,” but says “[i]t is not my job to censor our covers. This is an issue between Paige and the Learning Channel. … You would have to be very conservative to think these photos violate a no-nudity clause.”
