Say goodbye to the Lowe’s logos on the Trading Spaces smocks and paint cans: Home Depot has signed an agreement with TLC to “be the new home improvement category sponsor for the series from the fourth quarter of this year through the third quarter of 2004,” the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Lowe’s has sponsored the show since it debuted in 2001. An analyst “said the deal is part of Home Depot’s effort to regain its dominance over the smaller, but increasingly popular Lowe’s,” the AP reports. Home Depot will continue to sponsor While You Were Out and “will advertise on other Discovery Networks channels, including the Discovery Channel, Discovery Home & Leisure Channel and BBC America.”
