The first host of Trading Spaces has broken her silence about why she left the show and what she thinks of the show’s new host. Alex McLeod told Newsweek that “the grueling travel schedule was driving me into the ground and the network wouldn’t give me a proper vacation.” Also, she said her workload “got out of control,” so she left the show after the first season and won’t be returning. Alex says Paige Davis is “perfectly perky” but also “lucky because she was plugged in after the show had become a huge success.” Alex also offers her deepest sympathy to Paige: “[T]o have her performance measured against mine day after day must be taxing.”
