Danielle became America’s next next next next next next top model (I never tire of that joke) by beating Joanie, who was the favorite to win going into the finale. Jade was first out, her ugly personality having finally caught up with her. Of course, on her way out, she persisted in her delusion that she’s the best thing to ever happen to the universe, even bowing to the judges as she left the panel room (Twiggy laughed).
Danielle wasn’t a sure thing, mostly because Tyra and the other judges kept complaining about her voice and accent, which they said wasn’t worthy of a Cover Girl. The runner-up, Joanie, took the news well, saying, “I would have been so happy if it was me, but I’m okay. The best girl won.”
