ArchivesTyra Banks does not have control over who is eliminated on America’s Next Top Model. That’s because each judge has an equal vote. As a result, a model Tyra wanted to stay, Diane, was eliminated last week.
According to Orlando Sentinel columnist Scott Maxwell’s account, Tyra talked to “plus-sized” model Diane on her talk show yesterday, and said, “People think it’s my show: I’m the creator, the executive producer, I’m the last word. Each judge has equal say in who goes home — it’s majority rules. And I want you to know, I didn’t want you to go home…I believe in you.”
Tyra also noted that “[t]he fashion industry is very screwed up in what it calls ‘plus-sized.’” Diane agrees, telling Maxwell, “In the modeling world, if you’re not size 0 to 4, then you’re basically plus.”
