Top Model 5 finale, Project Runway 2 debut score big for their networks

On Wednesday evening, two networks scored big with the conclusion and debut of two of their signature reality series.

UPN’s Top Model 5 finale was watched by an average of 6.3 million viewers. In key demographics, the show “finished first in its 8 p.m. timeslot among 18-34s, and was also a competitive second place among 18-49s,” according to Media Life. And that “make[s] it the highest-rated finale the show has had since it moved to the Wednesday 8 p.m. timeslot in 2004.”

Meanwhile, on Bravo, the debut of Project Runway 2 was the “highest rated series premiere ever on a Wednesday night in the history of the network while shattering the ratings from the first season opener,” Bravo said in a press release. While 924,000 viewers tuned in, far more than the number of people who watched last season’s debut, that was still shy of the 2.5 million viewers who watched the season one finale.
