Get ready for the next next next top model, and the next next next next top model, as UPN has renewed America’s Next Top Model for two more seasons. A network press release says the show “has become a monumental success for UPN, delivering record-breaking ratings and triple-digit growth in key demos.” Of course, this is UPN, where more than a dozen viewers breaks records, but the show “has ranked first in its time period each week during the current cycle among women 18-34,” according to the network. Production and casting on the third season will begin “soon.” The press release summarizes the show like this: “The series follows participants of various backgrounds, shapes and sizes while they live together in a New York loft and compete in weekly tests as they vie for a modeling contract.” All true, assuming “shapes and sizes” means matchstick thin (“regular”) and stick thin (“plus-sized”).
