Transgendered contestant will compete on Top Model 11
A transgendered contestant is among the 14 girls who will compete on America’s Next Top Model 11 this year.
Isis identifies herself as “a woman born physically male,” she told Us Weekly. “My cards were dealt differently.”
The WB announced the finalists yesterday, and the press release identifies 22-year-old Isis as a “program assistant at a non profit organization.”
GLAAD president Neil Giuliano said in a statement released to media outlets that “[t]he inclusion of Isis on ‘America’s Next Top Model’ offers an unprecedented opportunity for a community that is underrepresented on television. We applaud Tyra Banks and The CW for making this historic visibility of transgender people possible.”
