From the Catch the F Up Department: FashionGates.com published a story yesterday, June 14, 2004, announcing “that Tyra Banks will serve as an executive producer and judge for the UPN reality series, tentatively entitled ‘Supermodel.’” Yes, this is breaking news, nearly two years after the show was actually announced. (Private to the kids at FashionGates.com: You need some WD-40 for those gate hinges, as America’s Next Top Model—it has a name now—is in production for its third season.) What other sort of breaking news might we trust to receive from this site, which promises that it “[covers] all aspects of the ever-evolving fashion industry and provid[es] in-depth profiles of the top fashion professionals of the day”? Maybe we can look forward to reports about Gianni Versace’s death, the invention of the corset, and Janice Dickinson’s radiant beauty.
