Top Chef Just Desserts renewed, casting

Bravo’s spin-off of Top Chef Just Desserts, the spin-off of Top Chef that featured a lot of drama with crazed pastry chefs during its first season last fall, has been renewed for a second season and is now casting.

The press release doesn’t mention host Gail Simmons at all, which seems troubling (why not mention her if she’s coming back?), but when I asked Bravo about that, a spokesperson told me that the announcement “is just a pickup and casting release.”

The 24-page application [PDF] says the show will tape over three to five weeks in April, but there’s no word yet when it’ll debut.
