Top Chef 6 starts casting this weekend

Bravo has unsurprisingly ordered a sixth season of Top Chef, which reigns as its highest-rated reality series, assuming Project Runway doesn’t come back or just withers and dies while Bravo and Lifetime fight in court, which appears to be happening.

A press release says that the show “will be returning for a sixth season” and notes that Top Chef 5’s ratings are up 18 percent among viewers 18 to 49, and the season “is on pace to record its highest-rated season ever, scoring 2.28 million adults 18-49 and 3.22 million total viewers with last week’s episode, which was the series’ highest rated non-finale telecast ever.”

Casting for Top Chef 6 is making good use of Tom Colicchio’s Craft restaurants, and starts in San Francisco at Ducca this Sunday, moving on to Seattle (Feb. 11, Canlis), Atlanta (Feb. 22, Craft), New York (March 1, CraftSteak), Philadelphia (March 4, XIX Nineteen), Los Angeles (Craft, March 15), and in Chicago (no date; Chicagoans should e.mail TCCastingChicago@gmail.com).
