ArchivesThe second season of the show is still airing, but Bravo has already renewed Top Chef for a third season. The only strange part of the announcement is that Bravo has yet to officially renew Project Runway for a fourth season.
The show will be casting chefs in six cities—Dallas, Miami, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and San Francisco—but only three dates have been announced. Casting begins Jan. 14 in Dallas, and goes on to Miami on Jan. 21, and New York on Jan. 28.
A Bravo press release says the series “currently ranks as the number one rated food series in all of cable television averaging 1,224,000” viewers ages 18 to 49. More significantly, the second season has increased its total viewers by 56 percent, according to Bravo.
Lauren Zalaznick, the network’s president, says, “The second season of ‘Top Chef’ has outperformed even our highest expectations both in ratings and the quality of this non-fictional competitive drama.”
