Tim Gunn's Guide to Style

Veronica Webb hired to co-host Tim Gunn’s show and “add a little sass to his class”

Producers of Tim Gunn’s forthcoming makeover show on Bravo have hired a co-host for the show. A report last week said they were searching for someone because he “was a bit ‘too highbrow’ for viewers.”

Veronica Webb will become Tim’s “style counterpart,” according to a Bravo press release, which identifies her “[a]s one of the world’s leading supermodels” and “a journalist, essayist, author and actress.” She’s also “the first African-American woman to sign a major cosmetics contract.”

In the press release, Bravo VP Frances Berwick says, “We think Veronica will make the perfect complement to Tim — she’ll add a little sass to his class. She not only brings extensive fashion expertise to the series, but she will be someone for our makeover subjects to lean on, creating a fun, comfortable, yet educational experience that our viewers can learn from.”

Because what, Tim Gunn can’t do that by himself? No disrespect to Veronica, who is clearly talented and may turn out to be a fantastic co-host, but the show is titled Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style, and he’s an engaging and charismatic person. After all, Bravo gave him a series. Apparently, producers didn’t trust him enough to host his own show, which is pretty tragic.
