ArchivesThere and Back has paid off for former O-Town member Ashley Parker Angel. The first track off his solo album was Billboard’s highest selling new single for the week of April 29.
On the Hot 100, “the top debut belongs to Ashley Parker Angel’s ‘Let U Go’ at No. 17,” according to Billboard. That earns Ashley the “hot shot debut” icon, in addition to the envy of his former O-Town bandmates.
That makes this weekAshley was also one of the three finalists on this week’s NBC special series Celebrity Cooking Showdown, but as a poorly produced, annoyingly excuted rip-off of Iron Chef, the show has already been cancelled because no one watched. The final two episodes will air only on NBC’s web site
Ashley’s full album, Soundtrack to Your Life, will be released May 16. Besides “Let U Go,” it includes songs such as “Dan, U the Man,” and “Jacob, Can I Touch Ur Monkey.” (Not really: Neither Amazon nor iTunes lists the album’s tracks yet.)
