Swan producer calls the show “worthless,” says its cast “[looked] like cheap hookers”
A Fox Reality Channel exec doesn’t have nice things to say about a show his network will re-air — and a show he helped produce. At the Banff World TV Festival, David Lyle dissed The Swan. According to the Calgary Sun, he said,
“The Swan was a worthless piece of television, I’m sad to say I produced. Those women were left sort of looking like cheap hookers and sent back to their small towns.”
Fox Reality will air repeats of the show, with added follow-up interviews. Lyle says Fox Reality “viewers want us to be at the more tawdry end, which I am happy to oblige. I am trying to stay away from that bout of niceness that [Amazing Race host] Phil’s leading.” Lyle says that he’s looking forward to the new episodes. “I’m really interested to see what has happened to them. I think the follow-up will be more interesting than the original.”
