The WB has bailed on The Surreal Life after two seasons, but VH1 has stepped in and picked up the series for a third run. 10 episodes will air in the third quarter of this year—early next fall. VH1’s press release mocks The WB slightly, saying the show “comes to VH1 from the WB where it broke ratings records in its second season.” Variety reports something that VH1 leaves out of their press release: the new season will “revolve around a music-centric house, and feature musicians from genres ranging from rap to heavy metal to country.” Producer Mark Cronin says the show will still retain its format. “The WB has been great to us, but the truth is they were always concerned that the show didn’t have a winner or something that built to a final moment.”
