The Surreal Life 2’s first episode debuted in last place. It came in behind NBC’ Law & Order: Criminal Intent, CBS’ People’s Choice Awards, FOX’s Malcolm in the Middle and Arrested Development, and ABC’s Alias. This is despite plenty of drama—including a fight between Trishelle “shockingly normal, especially when considering her horrific reality show persona” Cannatella and Traci “disconnected from all reality” Bingham, plus frequent tantrums by Rob “don’t call me Vanilla Ice” Van Winkle, who’s doing a good job of filling in Corey “I’ll try to resuscitate my career by being a complete asshole” Feldman’s role from the first season.
