The WB’s The Surreal Life will be back for a second season. A press release cites “outstanding growth in key demos” and the “over a million additional viewers to The WB’s Thursday 9-9:30pm time period” as reasons for the renewal. A WB exec says they “knew it was a series that lent itself to multiple seasons, given the right mix of celebrities.” And according to Entertainment Weekly, their first choice for the next mix of “beloved, controversial or iconic” celebrities is Michael Jackson. The exec also says that celebs were “offended” when he first contatcted them about the show; now he says “I think I’ll have to say no to people.” The first season ends Thursday.
