There were lingering questions after last night’s premiere of The Surreal Life. For example, why did Survivor Australia’s Jerri Manthey show up so damn late? Jerri tells TV Guide, which addresses these unanswered questions, that “[i]t was totally set up.” She says the producers denied they were trying to “create tension” but says, “I sat in a coffee shop for four hours, I went CD shopping and then they drove me around in a limo for two hours!” Also, the celebs aren’t talking, but a talent manager guesses they were paid “about $650 a day— plus 10 percent” for appearing on the 10-day show. You do the math.
