Bunim-Murray to produce nonfiction version of Green Acres for FOX.
For the second time this week, a network is announcing a new reality TV show based upon an old TV show. CBS will air a nonfiction show called The Real Beverly Hillbillies, and now FOX says they’ll air a show based upon Green Acres. Produced by Bunim-Murray Productions, the creators of The Real World, “the show will take a rich, upper-class family or individual—possibly a celebrity—and move them from a big city to a much more spartan existence, most likely in the South,” Variety reports. Neither Bunim-Murray nor FOX own the rights to the name Green Acres, so the name for the show is currently up in the air.
