ArchivesABC’s The Runner will include “extensive use of paid plugs.”
Think Jeff Probst whoring Doritos and other sponsored products during Survivor 2 is annoying? Wait until ABC’s The Runner debuts in September. The reality TV show will feature “extensive use of paid plugs that are completely integral to the show’s story line,” according to The New York Times. The runner may be instructed to stop at various sponsors’ locations or perform certain tasks using sponsors’ products, for example.
